Bangkok Getaway - Day 2 part 1

Let's continue the journey...

On the second day of our holiday, we would like to visit Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha) and Wat Arun. After that, we would head to Pattaya. We stayed at the tallest building in Thailand and also the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia which are Baiyoke Sky Hotel. It is a four stars hotel  with the 85 floors and it is located in heart of Bangkok. Starting the second day of trip, we had our breakfast in 78th floor ( Damn high just to have breakfast).

My breakfast

After finishing our breakfast, the tour guide picked us up and we went to Wat Pho and Wat Arun.
We arrived on the destination in less than 1 hour. The location is not really far from our hotel actually. Because  this place is a holly place, the visitor must dress appropriately. Actually i wore some kind of tube dress and bring my cardigan ( i knew i wouldn't be able to enter the place because my dress is kinda inappropriate). I heard that it will be so HOT in the both places, so don't forget to bring sunglasses or umbrella =)

Just in the entrance, you'll see a huge reclining Buddha statue which is covered by gold.

Wishing bowl - you have to buy the coin in order to fill the bowls. It is around 20 THB, whisper your wish while you're putting the coin =)

Right after Wat Pho, we took a walk through market to the harbor (not a big harbor). We had to cross the Chao Phraya River by using a boat to reach Wat Arun. The boat can contain  a lot of people and  the waving ocean kinda scared me !

Wat Arun

With Thai cultural costume - Rent this for 100THB only (some will offer you 200 THB!)

As seen on the pictures, only four of us that wore the costume. We were so pretty wearing the colorful costume =)
However, i really dislike how the rent people treat us ! They were very rude while putting those costume on us. Moreover, they used our digital camera to take only 5 pictures per person and cannot take more pictures! If you wear the costume longer, they will take the clothes from you in a rude way !!  -_-!!

From what i see, Wat Arun is actually kinda similar to Candi Prambanan in Indonesia. Other similarity would be both of the areas has REALLY HOT weather..fiuh....

If you want to buy Thai T-Shirt, you can buy it here. Behind the temple, there is a market and the seller can fluently speak Bahasa. one T-shirt cost around 80 THB for S-M size and around 100THB for the large size. There are so many Indonesian at this place, feels like i'm in Candi Prambanan lol

to be continued...
